Parent’s Meeting and New Theme/Calendar

Tonight we had the first orchestra practice and parent’s meeting. The kids are already sounding good! Thursday is the opening play-in for all group violin and cello students. We will start with another parent’s meeting.

I’ve updated the look of our blog. The main reason was so we could have a wider page, which will be nice on the Calendar page. I’m now able to embed a calendar from Google, which will be easier to update. I’ve posted the Orchestra, Ensemble and Group Lesson dates for September and into October (those are tentative). Click on the event to see more details.

Summer Workshops

Group Violins

Group Violins

This June, students in the program were able to meet for group lessons in Carrier Lodge in three groups, beginners, intermediate, and ensemble. All three groups met for four days. The beginners and intermediate students practiced their Suzuki repertoire and worked on note reading skills. The ensemble students worked on new pieces, including Mission Impossible, which after only four days was beginning to sound pretty good, especially since it was recorded on Miss Diane’s phone!photo
