Suzuki Groups (etc.) to perform at Starkville Symphony Concert

We have been asked to perform the prelude to the Starkville Symphony concert on January 21. Prelude 7:15-7:30, possible encore after the concert (7:30-9:00). Lee Hall of MSU campus.

Here is the Prelude music to review and prepare:

MS Hot Dog, Down Wiggle, Up Wiggle, Twinkle Theme, Lightly Row, O Come, Little Children, Allegro, Perpetual Motion, Minuet 2, and Chorus

* The older students are encouraged to play the Duet parts if you are familiar with them.

Davidson College Symphony Orchestra Concert

The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra will be giving a concert at 6:00p.m. Sunday, January 8th, at First Baptist Church Sanctuary, Downtown Columbus. Elizabeth Crowder, principal cellist and former cellist of our Suzuki String Program, will be playing. Elizabeth is graduating from Davidson this year and will be going to medical school. Our Suzuki Treasurer, Mike Crowder, is her father.

New Harmonies Exhibit at the RAC

If you haven’t already been, you should stop by the Rozenzweig Arts Center to see the New Harmonies exhibit on American Roots Music. And enjoy one of the events there:

Seminar on Will Rogers and Jimmy Rogers, Thurs. 11/17, 7:00 p.m. free

Happy Flower Radio Hour, Sat. 11/19, Aidan will perform fiddle, portraying a young Jimmy Brock, along with others portraying country stars like the Carter Family. 7:00 p.m. $12

Jim Brock will perform and talk about the history of Bluegrass, Fri. 11/25. 7:00 p.m. $12

Powwow Journeys, Fri. 12/9 7:00 p.m. free.
