The students from the Ensemble and their teachers did a great job on Saturday night, playing with the MSU/Starkville Symphony. Dr. Brown was very complimentary, and others have said what a great concert it was. Congratulations to all involved — all of your hard work paid off!
Group Lessons Re-aligned
To balance out the numbers in group violin lessons, we have changed the cut-off points as follows:
- Group 1: Beginners – “Lightly Row”
- Group 2: “Song of the Wind – Andantino
- Group 3: Bach Minuets and up (End of Book 1 to Book 4 or higher)
Attend the group where you know the most songs or ask your teacher which group would be best for you!
Also, see the updated calendar for group lesson days, play-in, and other upcoming events and concerts!
Cello Group Lesson!
First Play-In of the Year!
Suzuki Violin students of all ages are invited to the first play-in, tomorrow, Sept. 4, 4:30 p.m. in Carrier Lodge.
Wear your Suzuki T-Shirt or something musical. Come play the repertoire and meet new students!
Parents’ Meeting Success
Thanks to all who came to the Parents’ Meeting. We had a great turn-out and there was a lot of positive energy in the room! It was good to see everyone again and meet some new families! We even got a good start to recruiting some cello students, and Mary Catherine’s piece sounded wonderful.
If you couldn’t make it to the meeting, please see your teacher as soon as possible to get signed up for the program. New families who are interested should contact Diane Ford.
Looking forward to orchestra and ensemble next week on Tuesday at the usual time, and the first cello group lesson and violin play-in on Sept. 4. The calendar page has been updated with all of these times and dates. Group violin lessons are tentatively scheduled through December. The schedule may change, so check back each month for updates. Don’t forget, you can also subscribe to the calendar and get the latest information, if you use a calendar program on your phone or computer. See the link at the bottom of the calendar page.
