All Book 1-4 violin students should attend Group Lessons. We encourage Book 5 and up violin students to attend, as well. Group lessons encourage opportunities for creative review, consolidation of skills, introduction of new skills, performance readiness, expanded repertoire, and ensemble possibilities. Groups are divided into three groups

• Group 1 : Rhythms – “Lightly Row”
• Group 2 : “Song of the Wind” – “Andantino”
• Group 3 : “Etude” – Book 3

There will also be weekly beginner cello group lessons.

Group violins and cellos have several opportunities to perform each year, often in conjunction with the orchestra and/or ensemble. Frequently the groups have been invited to play at the Hitching Lot Farmer’s Market and the Market Street Festival, as well as at local nursing homes and schools.
